I had several gifts for our graduation.

The first was to reveal which of the four Wordles that I created got the most votes. You can

see the winning wordle by going to the Files area at our Yahoo Group site. Look for

BaW09-Wordle4.jpg .

The second was to reveal the answers to two practice exercises that were challenging for many:

1. the Utterli exercise ("What is the man doing?")

I commented on this exercise during our graduation ceremony. You can also find an explanation

in the Files area at our Yahoo Group site. Look for Utterli-Mystery-Revealed.pdf .

2. the "What did I say?" VoiceThread exercise.

You can find an explanation for this exercise in the Files area at our Yahoo Group site.

Look for VoiceThread-Mystery-Revealed.pdf .

I hoped to have another gift, but I didn't have time to finish it. I will say, however, that my most

important gift is my gratitude to each and every one who participated in the journey of discovery we

shared during our six weeks together in BaW09. I've learned a great deal from all of you—from the

coordinators, moderators, and participants. Thank you all for your many contributions!

Saša Sirk

Saša's graduation gift is a wonderful video she made. In our Yahoo Group, she wrote the following:

It's a short video titled "From Learning to Teach to Learning to Learn: Becoming a Webhead,"

in which I used Michael Coghlan's beautiful "A Webheads Theme Song" and many smiling Webhead

faces from the Webheads Flickr group . . . . I basically did this video as a response to one of the

tasks in the Digifolios EVO Group, where were asked to share our stories of our first online

learning experience . . . .

Hope you'll like it.

A tight hug,

Saša

Because Saša was ready to go on a family trip, I posted this for her. She can, of course,

come back later and edit or replace it. D. O.

I think our graduation should be celebrated worlwide in the press - so here's my present to

everyone, especially the moderators !!

Hi everybody.

It's been a great session! Thanks to the coordinators, moderators and participants to open

more doors into  learning about how to learn with technology.

My gift:

Mbarek Akaddar

I dedicate this beautiful poem to all BAWers

Light is more important than the lantern,

The poem more important than the notebook,

And the kiss more important than the lips.

My letters to you

Are greater and more important than both of us.

They are the only documents

Where people will discover

Your beauty

And  my madness

By Nizar Kabbani

In Tereasa's words : " No party is complete without food" . So here is a Moroccan tradional dish of couscous eaten collectively

HI ALL.  THESE SIX WEEKS HAVE BEEN AMAZING FOR ME.  I MIGHT NOT FIND

THE RIGHT WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW HELPFUL AND SIGNIFICATIVE THIS COURSE

HAS BEEN FOR ME.  I WISH I WOULD HAVE HAD MORE TIME TO BE IN TOUCH WITH

ALL OF YOU AND DO NOT MISS ANYTHING.  THANKS FOR THIS EXPERIENCE.

I HAVE BEEN GUIDED TO A WONDERFUL WORLD I WILL KEEP WORKING ON.

HERE'S A BEAUTIFUL VIDEO WE MADE IN OUR SCHOOL.  IT IS NOT RELATED TO

TEACHING LANGUAGES, BUT IT IS REAL LIFE AND REAL TEACHING AND IT IS

AMAZING HOW STUDENTS SHARE, NO MATTER WHAT DIFFFERENCES THERE ARE

BETWEEN THEM.  THIS IS WHAT I JUST LIKED ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

THAT I SHARED WITH PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT CULTURES AND WE BECAME

VIRTUAL FRIENDS.

THANKS A LOT.  I HOPE YOU LIKE IT

No party is complete without food. So here's my classical contribution, a recipe for Oven-baked cod,

a typical Portuguese dish accompanied by Portuguese red wine.

This was one of the first pages that I created after joining the Webheads in Action for the Jul. 2002

Tapped In Carnival at which I co-presented with Dafne and Sus Nyrop.

Here's to your health and happiness!

Anitha Devi

Hi,

It was great to be part of EVO BAW09. Learning online is a continuous process graduation is just

another feather in our cap. But as webheads we have miles to go before we catch the next web tool

for this whole year. I would like to keep in touch with everybody—coordinators, moderators and

presenters—to enhance this knowledge and complete all the activities.  Thanks to everyone for

the 6 week memorable online learning course.

Kudos to Teresa, Dafne, Dennis and all the moderators and Presenters.

I have just made a small Flash animation  gift for the graduation day to honour the BAW09 team

for making this event a success. This is on behalf of the participants but please don’t mistake me:

I have included only a few photos for clarity.

I hope you like it. I made this simple animation with good cheer.

Right through to the last week! Some one has been doing some innovative work. That table

of contents—great stuff—but the page is not showing correctly in my browser, so I'll just

use this space to say

THANK YOU for your time, your sharing, your patience and the

great contributions from EVERYONE!

Biljana Naumoska

As I am not used using the web tools a lot, I'll post a photo as a graduation gift to EVERYBODY,

a beautiful lake in my country, Ohrid Lake. Everybodycan come and visit, you are all wellcome,

I'll be there for you!

Thanks to the moderators, coordinators, participants.

Hala Salih

My gift to our moderators. Thanks to all the moderators of the baw09. Please watch this video.

Regards to all...

Sarah Phillips

Thanks to all who have taken part and made this such a rich and interesting journey - particpants,

presenters and of course our wonderfulmoderators.

Here's my gift - it's an old teacher trainer's tool, which I have personalised for us. Only partly digital,

I have to admit I did some old fashioned cut and paste with scissors and glue! I still have a long way

to go digitally - but it's the first step that counts, they say. Anyway, do you recognise yourself—

or anyone else for that matter?! :)

Maria Pinto

Natasa Bozic Grojic

It has been a great session. All I can say is

I was thinking about what to give you today, when Mbarek gave me an idea. So, here is a poem by my

favourite poet, Branko Miljkovic. I hope you'll like it:

Between Two Days

She passed by the house

Where the light is turned on, milk drank and one sleeps

And left on the pavement her footprints

Like piano keys

Since then I bear on my lips

A kiss as large as her forehead

And I am thinking up a word

That will find and recognise her

I was born this morning in spite of all statistics about me

And still I am older than the morning and tomorrow

And have forgotten nothing that was

Before my birth

And remember everything that was after my death

And cannot be blamed for anything that happened yesterday

I speak

I am silent

A spoken word faces me

Accuses me

I smile

The word returns ashamed to my mouth

My words do not recognise me

I loved her

And met her on the pavement

On the morning of my birth

And was sorry that she existed still yesterday

Hala Fawzi

I hope you will enjoy eating this mixed salad dish during the graduation ceremony!

I also thought of sharing with you a picture of sunset by the Nile in Khartoum.

The picture shows one of the oldest bridges in Khartoum built during the British Colonial Period,

over the spot where the Blue Nile and the White Nile meet to form our great Nile river. I hope

you will visit Khartoum one day!

Here is the gift, from Biljana  in the cold and Snowy Skopje. To Hala's snow passion!!

Fernanda

For family reasons, I'm afraid I won't be able to join the graduation party. Here's my gift:

Maru del Campo

To celebrate in a formal and fun way, these two are a must, at least over on this side of the world.

I want to invite you to taste a traditional dish from my home town and a traditional beverage from

my country:

Enchiladas Potosinas and Tequila

You can have as many enchiladas as you want (they're not really spicy or hot), but be careful with

the amount of tequila: it has a special shortcut to the brain. You can end up drunk without even

noticing while you're seated, but once you get up . . . the floor gets up too!

Nadia Mifka-Profozic

Great! I eventually managed to make the link. My gift to you is this cute koala because I see it

as a symbol of the BaW09 community: a symbol of care, patience and assistance (the photos are

original; my daughter took them last year on the Australian Magnetic Island). The flowers are

from Auckland!  Have fun!  Nadia

Daf

I also have a food gift for all of you, a paella recipe  which also includes ideas on how to use this

recipe in the classroom. You will also see one of the first web pages I created. Paella is as typical

Spanish food. The pictures will help you with the process. You will learn about the origin of the

word and the tools needed. Many people think that the typical paella has fish and sea food.

Well no! Read my notes and you will find out ;-)

Don´t forget a glass of red wine!

Barb Sakamoto

My gift is a card. The quote reminds me of all the wonderful BaWers I met during this session!

The flowers are some of the first to come up each spring. I see them outside my back window.

Their courage against the winter cold also reminds me of BaWers working so hard to use

technology to bring the world together. I'm honored to have met you all!

Karen Siemens

So many wonderful gifts!  My gift is from another graduation - my daughter Jen's last year.

I promised to make her a dress - beautiful enough for grad - that she could still feel

comfortable dancing in.  There were moments when I really wondered what I had got myself

into, but in the end it was so worth it.  Doesn't that remind you of BaW?  This is made from

a picture of her dancing barefoot on the grass.

Marcela Amaral

I Know it is a little bit late, but I did this anyway! The webheads team deserve it!!!!

Hope you like it!

Thank you for being the people you are! Thank you for all that you have done! I appreciate your coordinating, moderating, teaching, sharing, mentoring and being so generous and thoughtful. Although I was struggling to keep up with the info, I will certainly put into practice what I have learnt. My gift is a basket of love to you all!
